I  grew up eating this dip.  My mother served it often for parties.  I remember as a little girl, hoping there would be leftovers so I could eat the dip the next day.  I preferred it with Triscuits, but now as a gluten free eater, I like it just as well with corn chips.    Or straight up with a spoon.  Crab Layered Dip

    1. the varied sizes of spring loaded ice cream scoops are my favorite oxo product, especially useful for scooping muffin batter or cookie dough evenly and easily and quickly.

  1. >Kristen, I almost choked on my coffee. I have a neighbor who is "famous" for dumping a jar of jelly on top of a brick of cream cheese. LOl I'll have to send her this
    xoxo Pattie

  2. >Well, thank heavens I've never made the lame version! I can just start out right by doing yours next time I have a party–thanks for the recipe. I do so love dips with crab meat.

  3. >Ha, ha. I feel the same way about little smokies as wedding food. Not that they aren't good, I just think of it more as a tailgate dish. What a food snob, huh? :)

    The crab pizza sounds yum!

  4. Never mind the chips, I could eat this with a spoon too! Anything with crab on top is my favorite. Thanks so much for organizing the week of giveaways, Kristen!

  5. My favorite OXO products are the “approximately” one cup scoops I have in my flour, sugar and powdered sugar bins. They are the perfect size to fill the measuring cup.

  6. I do a similar version…but mix the crabmeat (2 cans) in with the cream cheese (16 0z), some finely chopped onion (2-3 T), horseradish(to taste)…. bake at 350 until hot and slightly browned on the edges and then top with super spicy (my preference) cocktail sauce. Absolutely awesome with Triscuits!

  7. There are so many great OXO products, but my favorite OXO product is the salad spinner. I am able to use the spinner for so many uses like spinning out spinach instead of trying to squeeze it. It really makes the work easier and more enjoyable and I thank OXO for that.

  8. Pizza cutter and my salad dressing bottle which I use for dish soap by the kitchen sink ;) This dounds like a great recipe.

  9. Ooh, crab – I’m from MD – this sounds good. I love my Oxo can opener, but would love to try their mandoline. I also love my Oxo measuring cups, with the slants inside for measuring – perfect.

  10. So glad I came across #appetizerweek on Twitter. This is my kind of event! Can’t wait to read up on all the fun recipes. And a layered crab dip is so creative. I’ll have to try!
