Fry Sauce for French Fries

French Fries with Fry SauceWe lived in Utah for three years when my sons were tweens. While we lived there, they became addicted to a little known condiment called Fry Sauce.  If a restaurant serves French fries in the state of Utah, it serves Fry Sauce.  Leave the state and the sauce disappears.  It is a regional phenomenon.  Fry Sauce with Homemade Fish Sticks

Since leaving Utah, my children have not let me serve any kind of French fry or tater tot without a little bowl of my own version of Fry Sauce on the side.   When I made these Sweet Potato encrusted Fish Sticks with a side of fries,  I couldn’t photograph them without the pale pink sauce.  Looking at the photos, I realized that I had never shared the recipe for our little addiction.   I skipped writing about the Fish Sticks and went straight to our special sauce.

  1. In Australia, this is known as seafood or cocktail sauce (as in Prawn Cocktails, a popular 70s appetiser), and is very popular with fresh cooked prawns, other seafood, or chips/fries
